Description
Title: Adoption, Rescue and Foster Administrator (ARF)
Organization: Darlington County Humane Society Location: Hartsville, SC
Overview: This position will report to the Operations Manager. The Adoption, Rescue and Foster Administrator will be the onsite point of contact for the cat and dog Adoption Coordinators, Rescue Coordinator and Foster Coordinator. In addition, this position will also serve as backup to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- The ARF Administrator is responsible for partnering with the Adoption, Rescue and Foster Coordinators to ensure all animals are documented, vetted and ready for their forever homes.
- Partner with the cat and dog Adoption Coordinators with onsite adoption meet and greets as well as serve as a backup adoption approver when needed.
- Partner with the Rescue coordinator to ensure the manpower is in place to prep rescue rides which will include prepping the rescue van and ensuring all animals are properly vetted and scheduled to arrive for the trip.
- Partner with the Foster Coordinators to place animals and troubleshoot any problems. Also help ensure that foster families know where to be and when and what their foster animal needs in order to be ready for a rescue ride.
- The work schedule includes weekends and evenings.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and Office Administrator to ensure the status and location of all animals and that they are documented in shelter manager software.
- Interact and spend time with the animals in our care in order to facilitate good matches.
- Provide professional, compassionate and stellar customer service to everyone they interact with.
- Manage social media sites to promote animals and programs as needed.
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills while using good judgment and remaining calm in difficult situations.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of and communicate all standard shelter medical procedures including use of vaccines and preventatives; explain the value of continued preventative use and the value of the retail products i.e. leashes and crates, to ensure pet safety.
- Thrives in a collaborative, fast-pace environment with a team of passionate individuals.
- Maintain strong community relations with fosters, rescue partners and adopters.
